Fishing Season

Although each region, and even specific rivers and lakes, have their own closed season, in general terms the trout and salmon season can be summarized as:

Much of the Chilean territory, which for the purposes of the recreational fishing of these species, goes from the Region of Arica and Parinacota, to the Region of Los Lagos, the season begins on the second Friday of November and It lasts until the first Sunday of May. In other words, a fishing season is proposed that goes from mid-spring of one year to mid-autumn of the following year. Special places, such as the Llanquihue Lake, the Petrohué River, in the Los Lagos Region, have opened the season in September a few years ago, adding practically two months to the season. In all of Patagonia, that is, the Aysén Region and the Magallanes Region, they have a season that begins in mid-October and lasts until the beginning of May.
